The room to the right of this corridor is a vertical corridor where you  can go up or fall through the floor and go to the room below. It's located in the southwest corner of the large room I've pointed you in the  direction of. Then, go left from there into the next room  over. You'll fight an annoying aerial enemy called the Valkyrie. Once on top of the water, use it as a  stepping-stone to the platforms above.
